Although the distance to central Bali can feel slightly inconvenient, the presence of a nearby shopping complex ensures that daily needs are easily covered without leaving the area. Even with a week in Bali, time rarely feels sufficient—and even a month can pass surprisingly quickly.

As part of the Marriott portfolio, The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali carries the consistency and operational standards expected of a global brand. Opened in 1991, the resort has a long history and has undergone multiple renovations over time.
Thanks to its early development, the scale of the property is genuinely impressive, something that becomes immediately apparent upon arrival.

With nearly 500 rooms, The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali offers a wide range of categories—from Deluxe to Premium and Suite options.
Deluxe Room: approximately 38㎡ / Suite: approximately 88㎡
Whenever possible, opting for a more spacious room category significantly enhances the stay.
During this visit, I was upgraded to a One-Bedroom Ocean View Suite as a Marriott Titanium Elite member.
Given the property’s age, I initially had some concerns about room condition, but thanks to ongoing renovations, the interiors are well-maintained, clean, and polished – particularly the bathrooms, which felt fresh and carefully updated.
The design retains a classic tone, with furnishings that lean slightly antique, yet the execution ensures it feels refined rather than outdated.
The layout is especially practical:
- A separate living and dining area
- A daybed instead of a traditional sofa, offering a relaxed space to unwind
- A dining table suitable for in-room dining
- A coffee machine for convenience
- Two bathrooms, allowing for easy shared use
The bedroom reflects a traditional Balinese style, with detailed woodwork and a sense of craftsmanship.
A small but memorable detail was the lavender sleep oil provided for bedtime, a thoughtful touch consistent with the Westin brand.
Amenities are the standard Heavenly line used globally, and the towels were exceptionally soft.
That said, not every aspect feels fully modernized., as certain elements – such as the floor tiles and terrace—retain a slightly dated aesthetic despite renovations.

Breakfast & Afternoon Tea
Breakfast at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali offers a wide variety of international cuisine including Indonesian, Western, Japanese, and Korean options. The presence of items such as miso soup and sushi rolls suggests a strong Japanese guest presence.
Simple combinations like sushi rolls enjoyed almost like kimbap can easily carry you through to lunch.
Due to the large number of guests, the restaurant can feel busy, particularly in the morning. After around 9 AM, the atmosphere becomes noticeably calmer.
Compared to nearby luxury properties such as The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort, the ambiance here is more lively and family-oriented rather than quiet and exclusive. For those who prefer a more relaxed breakfast, arriving later in the morning is a practical approach.
Afternoon tea is available at the lobby lounge, and the quality is surprisingly strong for the price. While luxury hotels often charge around $40 per person, here it is available at roughly one-third of that price.
Considering the quality is comparable to many café-level offerings, it feels like a worthwhile experience if time allows.
Pools & Beach
The resort features both adult and children’s pools, including one that reaches a depth of approximately 2.3 meters. For those who enjoy swimming rather than simply relaxing in shallow water, this depth adds a noticeable difference.
The pool is not uniformly deep, gradually varying in depth, which makes it accessible without feeling overwhelming. A separate children’s pool allows adults to enjoy a quieter atmosphere.
Spending time on a sunbed with a coconut drink in hand feels entirely natural here, the kind of relaxed rhythm that defines a resort stay.
Directly in front of the property is a private beach, where activities such as kayaking and paddle boarding are available. Romantic beachfront dinners can also be arranged, and it is entirely possible to spend a full day within the resort without feeling the need to leave.
There is also a seawater pool located in front of the main building, surrounded by well-designed landscaping, and it tends to be quieter, offering a more private and peaceful atmosphere compared to the main pool.
Additional Notes
The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali is directly connected by beach access to The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort.
This makes it easy to walk between the two properties, and splitting a stay between them can offer a more varied experience.

One of the most important points to understand before booking is the room structure.
