Among these, Nusa Dua is widely regarded as the safest area in Bali – a fact most travelers are already aware of. While exploring local neighborhoods can be rewarding, safety remains the most important consideration. Even in busy tourist areas, walking alone at night requires a certain level of caution.
Having stayed at numerous Hilton properties around the world, I found Hilton Bali Resort to feel noticeably more refined than what many travelers might typically expect from the brand.
Check-in is conducted while seated, creating a more relaxed arrival experience, and the lobby itself is both grand and visually striking. The ocean view visible from the lobby is nothing short of breathtaking. If compared within the Marriott portfolio, the overall level feels closer to a Westin rather than a Sheraton in terms of positioning and atmosphere.

If you enjoy swimming or are traveling with family, choosing a pool access room at Hilton Bali Resort makes a significant difference.
In many hotels, pool access rooms tend to feel damp, shaded, and somewhat enclosed. Here, however, the rooms are positioned to receive direct sunlight, which keeps the space bright, dry, and comfortable.
The terrace is impressively spacious – large enough to accommodate sunbeds while still leaving ample room for additional seating. There is no sense of humidity inside the room, and the convenience of stepping directly from your room into the pool, then back into the bathroom to shower, adds a level of ease that enhances the overall stay.
It almost feels like having your own private pool villa.
Because the pool is not directly connected to the main pool (it is separated by partitions), there is no flow of outside guests. Only neighboring rooms share the space, which creates a noticeably more private and peaceful atmosphere.
Despite hearing concerns about the property’s age, the resort underwent renovations during the pandemic period. As a result, the condition of the rooms is excellent, with modern interiors and particularly clean bathrooms.

Pools & Beach Experience
The scale of the facilities at Hilton Bali Resort is impressive.
There are multiple pools – approximately four in total – including a lazy river, an infinity pool, a water slide suitable for both adults and children, and even a pool area with artificial sand.
For families, this setup works exceptionally well. Children can play in the sand while the ocean sits just beyond, creating a seamless transition between poolside leisure and beachside relaxation.
What stands out most is the color of the water. While Nusa Dua beaches are not always known for vibrant hues, this particular stretch has a striking emerald tone – something that is surprisingly rare in Bali.
For families traveling with children, as well as adults seeking a relaxed yet engaging resort environment, Hilton Bali Resort offers a well-balanced experience. Even small details, like complimentary tube rentals for the lazy river, add to the overall enjoyment.
Breakfast Experience
The breakfast at Hilton Bali Resort exceeded expectations.
There is a dedicated station for freshly prepared Indonesian dishes, alongside a wide selection of Western options. One particularly memorable detail was the variety of sambal – there were around seven different types, each with varying levels of spice to accommodate different preferences, including those less accustomed to heat.
Simply mixing sambal into fried rice created a meal satisfying enough on its own.
Taking breakfast slowly on the outdoor terrace, overlooking the gardens, often extended well into what felt like lunchtime. It was the kind of relaxed start to the day that defines a true resort experience.
Overall Atmosphere & Location
There is a common perception that staying within the Nusa Dua resort complex can feel somewhat quiet or even uneventful. In reality, I found the opposite to be true – I wished I could have stayed longer.
If you do want to explore beyond the resort, a shuttle to Bali Collection makes it easy. There, you’ll find a variety of dining options as well as shops selling souvenirs, allowing for a more dynamic experience when desired.
Moments like sitting on the outdoor terrace, enjoying the garden view with a glass of fresh juice, remain some of the most memorable parts of the stay.
Final Thoughts
Each resort in Nusa Dua has its own character, but Hilton Bali Resort stands out as one of the most suitable choices for families.
For travelers dreaming of a relaxed yet fulfilling Bali getaway, this is a property that delivers both comfort and experience in equal measure.
