1-Bedroom Suite – Materials and Design That Stand Out
At the laguna a luxury collection resort, the difference before and after renovation feels almost like two entirely separate hotels.
Where the previous design leaned toward an antique, traditional aesthetic, the current rooms present a modern yet quietly sophisticated atmosphere. During the 2022 renovation, it is evident that significant attention and investment were placed into every detail.
From the furniture to the finishing materials, everything reflects top-tier quality. Chairs upholstered in full leather, carefully crafted tables, and subtle detailing – these are elements that may not be immediately obvious to everyone, but they are unmistakable to those familiar with true luxury.
The interior palette, centered around calm green tones, gives the space a distinctive identity. It does not feel like a generic Luxury Collection property; rather, it carries a clear sense of intentional design.
In fact, I found the overall impression even more refined than some Ritz-Carlton properties. Considering that pricing is often comparable to the Ritz-Carlton Bali, this level of design quality likely plays a significant role.

It is not designed as a dramatic, large-scale infinity pool like Conrad Bali. Instead, what makes it exceptional is the landscaping. The pool is integrated into its surroundings in a way that resembles a natural lagoon, harmonizing beautifully with the surrounding trees and greenery.
The curved, flowing design adds a sense of elegance and softness that is rare.
There are also pool-access rooms on the ground floor, making it an excellent option for families traveling with children.
Additionally, the resort features an artificial beach area where guests can enjoy simple activities like sand play.
A short walk further leads to Nusa Dua Beach, and notably, there is a direct pathway connecting the property to The Westin next door. This makes it possible to move between the two hotels on foot -even with luggage – if you plan to experience both.
However, it is important to note that Nusa Dua Beach does not have the vibrant emerald color often associated with tropical destinations. More importantly, there is a real risk of stepping on sea urchins when entering the water barefoot, so wearing aqua shoes is essential.
During my stay, my husband stepped on a sea urchin, which required treatment at the hotel clinic. The procedure itself was simple – removing the spines and applying medication – but the cost was approximately 1,000,000 IDR. Even after treatment, it took over a week for the remaining spines in the foot to fully disappear.
This is a small but important reminder that safety should always be taken seriously when traveling abroad.
Breakfast – Quiet Atmosphere, Exceptional Quality

The setting is calm and unhurried, with a noticeably more mature and tranquil guest demographic compared to properties like The Westin or Hilton Bali. The overall atmosphere feels composed and restorative – ideal for those seeking a true sense of relaxation.
The quality of the food stands out. Each dish reflects attention to detail, from eggs benedict to Indonesian specialties, as well as a selection of pastries and even ice cream.
While the price point of the hotel is undeniably high, the overall experience justifies it. This is not a place defined by excessive or flashy luxury, but rather by subtle refinement and thoughtful execution.
