Hello, I’m SINAE, a travel writer who spends much of the year exploring the world.
While planning a one-month trip through Indonesia, I initially considered returning to Bali. But since I had already visited Bali many times, I decided to choose a slightly different route this time: Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya.
My main destinations were Yogyakarta and Surabaya, so Jakarta was only a short stop before taking a domestic flight the next day.
For my first night after arrival, I stayed near the airport at Fairfield by Marriott Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
It is a four-star Marriott-chain property, and with rates around $60 per night, I found it to be an excellent value option for a short airport stay.

Airport Pickup & Drop-Off Service
The biggest advantage of Fairfield by Marriott Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport is that it offers airport pickup and drop-off service.
After making my reservation, I contacted the hotel via WhatsApp to ask about the shuttle schedule. Fortunately, there happened to be a private vehicle available at the airport, so the hotel kindly arranged a direct pickup for me.
For detailed information about the airport shuttle, it is best to contact the hotel directly by email or WhatsApp.
The next day, when I returned to the airport, I used the shared vehicle with other guests. At that time, the staff explained that the private pickup on my arrival day had been provided complimentary because I was a Marriott Titanium Elite member.
It was not something the hotel was strictly required to provide, which made the gesture feel even more appreciated.

Room Condition – Clean and Comfortable for One Night
The room condition at Fairfield by Marriott Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport was very clean and well maintained.
Since the hotel is relatively new, the overall condition felt fresh, modern, and reliable. It was exactly the kind of room I wanted for a simple one-night stay before an early onward flight.
I booked a room without breakfast because I wanted to sleep in a little longer. One thing to note is that Fairfield properties generally do not provide complimentary breakfast even for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite members and above.
Before heading back to the airport the next day, I ordered a coffee at the restaurant. However, it came with sugar already added, so I had to ask for it to be remade.
In many Southeast Asian countries, syrup or sugar can sometimes be the default. If you prefer your drinks unsweetened, it is always safer to clearly say “no sugar” when ordering.

The Comfort of a Familiar Chain Hotel
One of the advantages of staying at Fairfield by Marriott Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport is the predictability of the experience.
The room had the typical Fairfield-style interior and design. If you have stayed at a Fairfield property before, the atmosphere may feel immediately familiar.
It has that comforting quality of feeling not entirely new, even when you are in a completely unfamiliar country. For an airport stay, that sense of reliability can be more valuable than it may seem.

Final Thoughts
The area around the hotel is quite empty, with very little nearby. But realistically, that is often the case with airport hotels.
Since this is mainly a transit property, I felt the location and facilities were more than sufficient for the purpose.
There are also accommodations located inside the airport, but after reading several reviews, they seemed to be much smaller, noisier, and less comfortable, with some guests mentioning unpleasant smells. They were also around 1.5 times more expensive.
In the end, I think choosing Fairfield by Marriott Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta Airport was the right decision.
If I visit Jakarta again and need to stay near the airport rather than travel into the city, this is the hotel I would choose again.
