That said, even if you hold Best Western Diamond status, it is worth noting that lounge access or room upgrades are not provided as elite benefits here.
A Modern Hotel with an Excellent Location
One of the strongest advantages of Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit is its location. Set in the heart of Sukhumvit, it offers easy access to many parts of Bangkok. You can walk to the BTS station, and many popular areas and attractions are also conveniently close.
Another major strength is value. With rates often slightly above USD 100 per night, the hotel offers a very compelling balance between price and quality.
The closest comparison that came to mind was Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, especially in terms of the bright white marble concept. However, in my personal experience, the overall room quality here felt even stronger.
The rooms are impressively spacious, especially by city hotel standards. One detail I particularly appreciated was the dedicated space where two large suitcases could be opened at the same time. This is not something commonly found in standard rooms, unless you are staying in a suite. It gave the impression that the hotel was designed with practical details in mind, not only visual appeal.

Breakfast – Generous in Variety, but Not the Strongest Point
Breakfast at Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit is served from 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM, which makes it convenient for both early risers and those who prefer a slower morning.
One level below the lobby, there is a spacious restaurant offering a wide variety of dishes, including Western, Thai, Japanese, and even Korean options. The selection itself is broad, and there is certainly enough to choose from.
However, the quality of the breakfast was not particularly outstanding. In this regard, Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park offers a noticeably better breakfast experience.
The restaurant also felt slightly crowded compared to the number of guests, and because it is located on the lower-ground level, there is no view, which made the space feel a little enclosed. This is something I would recommend knowing in advance before staying.
A Larger-Than-Expected Swimming Pool
The swimming pool is quite spacious compared to many other five-star hotels in a similar category. It does not offer a particularly dramatic view, but in terms of size and layout, it is definitely more generous than expected.
On the lobby level, there is also a lounge where you can enjoy coffee and desserts. I remember the coffee being quite good, which made it a pleasant place to take a short break during the day.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this is a hotel that clearly places a strong emphasis on its rooms. The breakfast could be better, but when considering the room rate, it still feels understandable.
Rather than trying to excel in every single area, the hotel seems to know where to invest and where to keep things efficient. In that sense, it feels like a smart and well-balanced hotel – modern, practical, and reasonably priced for what it offers.
