Hello, I’m SINAE, a travel writer who spends much of the year on the road, writing and taking photographs along the way.
During my 20-night, 21-day stay in Bali, one of the most memorable hotels was Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach by IHG.
This is a property with beautifully curated interiors, a refined sense of style, and direct access to Seminyak Beach – a combination that makes it feel both elegant and genuinely relaxing.
Kuta, Legian, and Canggu are popular among travelers, but they do not necessarily feel luxurious. Seminyak, by comparison, has a noticeably cleaner, more polished atmosphere, and it is generally considered one of Bali’s more comfortable areas to stay. The sunsets here are also beautiful, so if you are considering where to stay in Seminyak, Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach by IHG is an easy recommendation.

A Five-Star Hotel with Beautiful Design and Exceptional Details
I have stayed at many resorts around this area, but this was one of those places that made me think, “How did I not know such a beautiful hotel was here?”
If I were to compare it with another property, the atmosphere reminded me somewhat of W Bali – stylish, bold, and design-led – but the room rate was roughly half, while the overall quality felt surprisingly comparable.
Because Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach by IHG is operated under the global IHG brand, the check-in experience also felt polished. Instead of standing at a counter, the process was handled calmly while seated, and there was even a waiting room for guests arriving a little early.
The lobby and overall interior design were so beautiful that simply walking around the property became part of the experience. Around the lobby in particular, there were so many visual details to enjoy – a mix of vibrant Balinese character, artistic design, and refined styling that felt exactly like my taste.
The design details here are genuinely impressive.
Personally, I would choose this hotel over paying significantly more for W. When comparing the two, the stylish atmosphere is close enough that it is difficult to say one clearly wins over the other.
I loved the property so much that I took an endless number of photos.

Standard Garden View Room — 50 Square Meters
The room I stayed in was a high-floor Standard Garden View room.
Located on the third floor, it had a lovely view, and the terrace was the kind of place where you could quietly enjoy a cup of coffee without rushing. The room measures 50 square meters, which is larger than many corner rooms at typical five-star hotels.
There was a separate luggage area near the entrance, and I especially liked that the dressing room was designed as its own distinct space.
The bathroom and living area were separated by a door, giving the room the feeling of a refined private villa rather than a standard hotel room.
The details were different here. Every small object, every material, and every decorative element felt thoughtfully chosen, and I kept finding myself impressed while looking around the room.
There was an espresso machine inside the room, and the shower booth and toilet were separated, making the space feel clean and practical to use.
Overall, the room had the atmosphere of an upscale resort rather than a simple city-style hotel. It felt like a stay that exceeded the usual expectations of a five-star property.

Three Swimming Pools and Seminyak Beach Right in Front
The hotel has several pool areas, each with a slightly different character.
There is a shallow pool suitable for children, a garden-style pool surrounded by greenery, and a larger main pool where guests can properly relax.
Spending time on a sunbed beside the pool, tanning, resting, and ordering a drink felt like exactly the kind of slow Bali moment I had been hoping for.
One interesting thing I noticed was that many of the guests appeared to be European, which gave the resort a slightly different atmosphere from some other Bali hotels.
Another major advantage is the beach access. From the pool area, you only need to walk a short distance, cross one small road, and Seminyak Beach is right there.
Even in this part of Bali, not every hotel offers such easy access to the sea, so having the beach practically in front of the property is a real strength.
The drinks were also not excessively expensive. A beverage was around USD 6, which felt reasonable for this kind of hotel setting.

My Favorite Hotel Breakfast in Bali
Because the overall quality of the hotel was so high, I expected the breakfast to be good – but it turned out to be far better than I imagined.
I have stayed at many resorts, yet there are only a handful where each dish actually tastes memorable. This was one of them.
The California rolls and sushi-style items were especially impressive. Among the hotels I have visited in Bali, I honestly have not found a better version. The dim sum was also excellent, perhaps because the property has Japanese and Chinese dining concepts within the resort.
The fruit service was another highlight. Instead of simply placing fruit in large piles, the staff prepared the fruit after you selected it and brought it directly to the table.
This was also the first time I was able to enjoy mangosteen at a hotel breakfast. Since it is usually a fruit that cannot be brought into hotel rooms, being able to eat it at breakfast felt like a small luxury.
In addition, the eggs Benedict and local fried dishes were prepared fresh, and everything I tried was genuinely delicious.
When considering the price, breakfast quality, room condition, service, and overall atmosphere together, Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach by IHG was, for me, the strongest hotel choice near Seminyak Beach.

Final Thoughts
For travelers who want a stylish Bali hotel with a spacious room, beautiful design, excellent breakfast, and easy access to Seminyak Beach, Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach by IHG offers a very compelling balance.
It feels luxurious without being unnecessarily excessive, design-forward without feeling cold, and resort-like while still being practical for a longer Bali stay.
