This time, I would like to share my review of Millennium Hilton Bangkok, one of the hotels I have personally returned to most often in Bangkok.
I have stayed here around five times, and while I would not describe it as overwhelmingly perfect in every possible way, it is one of those rare hotels where almost everything feels comfortably above average. In other words, it is a very safe choice – one that rarely disappoints.
I have also stayed at hotels such as Conrad and DoubleTree in Bangkok several times, but if I had to choose the one I would most naturally want to revisit, this would be at the top of my list.
The hotel has been open for quite some time, but its location is exceptional. ICONSIAM is right in front of the property, which means you can reach one of Bangkok’s largest and most impressive shopping malls in about three minutes on foot. That convenience alone makes a real difference during a Bangkok stay.
The moment you step into the lobby, the high ceiling immediately creates a strong first impression. It has that classic five-star hotel presence – spacious, polished, and grand enough to make you feel that you have arrived somewhere special.
During my three-month stay in Bangkok, I spent a total of eight nights and nine days here. I first stayed for three nights and four days, enjoyed it so much, and later returned for another five nights and six days. That probably says more than any simple compliment could.
Another memorable detail is the hotel boat that operates across the Chao Phraya River. Even taking it for a short ride feels like a beautiful Bangkok experience in itself. The river, the breeze, and the city skyline all come together in a way that feels very different from staying in the middle of Sukhumvit or the downtown business district.

At Millennium Hilton Bangkok, the room itself is not necessarily the kind of space that makes you say “wow” the moment you walk in. It is more accurate to say that it is comfortable, well-maintained, and pleasant rather than dramatically luxurious.
Although the hotel has some history, the rooms have been renovated thoughtfully. The bathroom, in particular, is easy to use, with a separate bathtub and shower booth, which makes the space feel cleaner and more practical.
A standard room can still be a good choice, but the real highlight of this property is undoubtedly the view. If you stay here, I would strongly recommend choosing a river view room. The Chao Phraya River is what makes the entire experience feel special.
If you book an Executive Room, you can also check in more comfortably at the lounge located on the upper floor. For a proper hotel staycation, I personally think a club lounge makes a meaningful difference. Once you have experienced this kind of relaxed lounge access, you understand why paying a little extra can be worthwhile.

Infinity Pool & Executive Lounge
The room condition is good, and there is very little to complain about overall, but the biggest reason to stay here is the swimming pool.
The hotel has an infinity pool overlooking the Chao Phraya River, and the view is genuinely beautiful. Many hotels in Sukhumvit or central Bangkok are surrounded by dense high-rise buildings, which can sometimes feel a little enclosed. Here, however, the open river view gives the property an almost resort-like atmosphere.
It is one of the few places in Bangkok where I felt I could truly relax without being surrounded too closely by buildings. The pool area also receives a nice amount of sunlight, so I even had a rare chance to enjoy a little tanning.
If you visit, take your time by the pool, order a coconut, and simply enjoy the slower rhythm. This is exactly the kind of moment that makes a hotel stay feel like a real break.
The Executive Lounge is available to guests staying in Executive Rooms. One of its advantages is that you can enjoy light refreshments during the day, afternoon tea, and alcoholic drinks during evening happy hour.
You can also have a quiet continental-style breakfast in the lounge. The afternoon tea selection was better than I expected, and watching the Chao Phraya River from the lounge was a lovely part of the stay.
That said, the lounge breakfast is much more limited compared to the main buffet restaurant on the first floor. If you prefer a wider selection, I would recommend having breakfast downstairs instead.
Breakfast – Excellent Quality and a Beautiful Atmosphere
Breakfast at Millennium Hilton Bangkok is served at the restaurant on the first floor.
The breakfast venue is quite spacious, and simply walking around to see the full selection takes time in the best possible way. There is a pleasant sense of discovery, with a generous variety of Thai dishes, Western options, pastries, fruit, and other breakfast items.
You can dine indoors, but if the weather is comfortable, the outdoor terrace is especially beautiful. Sitting by the river and enjoying breakfast slowly for about an hour made me feel that this was exactly what travel should feel like.
There are not that many hotels in Bangkok where you can enjoy breakfast with such a direct river view. Perhaps the Royal Orchid Sheraton and Mandarin Oriental come to mind, but even then, this hotel has its own strong appeal.
In my personal experience, the breakfast atmosphere and overall quality felt more satisfying than some higher-priced luxury hotels, including the Four Seasons, and the variety was also more generous than what I experienced at the Mandarin Oriental. For that reason, I would strongly recommend booking a rate that includes breakfast if possible.
Final Thoughts
For me, Millennium Hilton Bangkok is not the newest or most flawless hotel in the city, but it is one of the most reliably satisfying.
The rooms are comfortable rather than ultra-luxurious, and the lounge breakfast selection is somewhat limited. However, the river view, the infinity pool, the convenient access to ICONSIAM, the spacious breakfast restaurant, and the overall sense of ease make this hotel very easy to recommend.
The biggest strengths are clear: location, river view, breakfast, pool, and value for the overall experience. The main weaknesses are that the room itself may not feel as striking as the public spaces, and travelers who prefer a very new, modern luxury hotel may find it less impressive.
Still, this is a hotel I have returned to several times – and one I would gladly return to again.
If you want a Bangkok hotel that feels relaxing, convenient, and beautifully connected to the Chao Phraya River, Millennium Hilton Bangkok is a choice worth considering.
