Four Points by Sheraton Bali Kuta Review: Breakfast, Pool, and Location

Hello, I’m SINAE, a travel writer who travels the world while taking photographs and documenting each journey.

For many travelers who have been to Bali, it remains the one destination they most want to return to – and there is a reason for that. Bali offers an unusual sense of variety. You can experience the texture of local life, enjoy a refined and elegant European atmosphere, and choose anything from ultra-luxury resorts to well-priced accommodations, depending on the style of trip you want.

Another part of Bali’s charm is that each area feels distinct, almost as if you are moving between different countries within one island.

In an ideal world, I would stay at a five-star hotel every time. In reality, when a trip becomes longer, it is often necessary to include a few four-star stays as well. That is exactly why choosing the right one matters. Among Bali’s four-star hotels, there are a few that offer notably strong quality for the price, and this was one of them.

A Well-Priced Stay Near Kuta Beach

The hotel I stayed at was Four Points by Sheraton Bali Kuta, a four-star property located near Kuta Beach.

It is not directly on the beachfront, and it sits slightly farther inside rather than facing the sea, but it is not inconveniently far. With a short walk, you can reach a range of shops, restaurants, and the beach itself.

Compared with beachfront resorts, one of its clearest advantages is the lower price. At around USD 70 per night, it feels like a very solid option.

For travelers planning a longer stay in Bali – whether that means a week, ten days, or even a month – this is the kind of hotel that feels much easier to choose without too much hesitation. As part of the globally recognized Marriott group, the service standard is also reassuringly reliable. Check-in was efficient, and the staff were genuinely warm and courteous.

Pool Access Room and One-Bedroom Suite Upgrade

As a Titanium member, I was upgraded and had the chance to stay one night in a pool access room and another in a one-bedroom suite.

If you are traveling with children, the pool access room is a pleasant choice. Being able to step directly from the terrace into the pool adds a sense of ease that many families would appreciate.

The only drawback is that the room can feel slightly humid. Still, for travelers who genuinely enjoy swimming, that is a fairly minor trade-off.

The one-bedroom suite, meanwhile, offers a more spacious layout with the living room and bedroom clearly separated. That distinction makes the room feel much more comfortable, especially if you spend a meaningful amount of time indoors rather than simply using the hotel as a place to sleep.

The bathroom was also well arranged, with the bathtub and shower area separated. The amenities were the familiar standard Marriott line used in many properties worldwide. The scent does have a slightly masculine skincare-like character at first, though after a while I found it easy enough to get used to.

There is also a terrace, and the sofa bed adds another place to properly stretch out and rest. In several small but meaningful ways, the room was more comfortable than I initially expected.

If your stay involves spending a fair amount of time inside the hotel, room selection becomes more important. Rather than choosing the very cheapest category, I would say it is worth selecting a room with either a better view or more generous space. At four points by sheraton bali kuta, that difference has a noticeable effect on the overall experience.

Breakfast That Felt More Generous Than Expected

Breakfast is served at the ground-floor restaurant, Eatery.

You can dine while looking out over the pool, and what surprised me most was the range of options. It felt far more generous than I had expected from a four-star hotel.

Alongside Indonesian dishes, staff also shared freshly prepared daily items, which made the breakfast feel more thoughtful and alive rather than routine. Even the desserts were presented with care, and the small service touches at the end felt polished enough that I would not have considered them out of place at certain five-star hotels.

It made me think once again that established chain hotels often do have a different level of consistency.

There was a satisfying selection of egg dishes, hot food, bakery items, and coffee. It was the kind of breakfast that keeps you full well past lunchtime. For a hotel in this price range, the morning meal felt especially strong, and that was one of the clearest reasons four points by sheraton bali kuta left such a favorable impression on me.

Two Pools, and More Than Enough for a 4-Star Stay

The main pool has a simple rectangular shape.

This kind of layout is actually quite common among four-star hotels in Bali, many of which are built in practical, inward-facing forms rather than in the dramatic resort style of larger beachfront properties. But what makes this hotel more enjoyable is that there is another pool on the rooftop, which gives the stay a little more variety.

It is true that the hotel does not offer an ocean view, and that may feel slightly disappointing to some travelers. Still, for a four-star property at this price point, I thought it performed rather well. Two separate pool areas already make the stay feel more relaxed and flexible.

If you are considering a somewhat longer Bali trip – perhaps a week, ten days, or even a month -hotel costs quickly become a serious part of the budget. It is not always realistic to stay at five-star resorts throughout the entire trip. In that context, choosing four points by sheraton bali kuta for part of the journey feels like a sensible and balanced decision.

Final Thoughts

For around USD 70 per night, this hotel offers a great deal of value. That said, if someone were to expect something far beyond that price point, there may also be room for disappointment. It is important to approach it with the right expectations.

There is also one practical drawback: the entrance road is very narrow, which makes access by car a little less comfortable than ideal.

Before arriving, I had seen several reviews mentioning that the rooms felt small or that the hotel sat too far inside. Because of that, I did hesitate a little before booking. But in the end, the kindness of the staff and the overall attitude of the service shaped the stay much more strongly than those concerns did.

What remains in my memory is not a list of minor shortcomings, but a genuinely happy stay – and a hotel I would gladly consider returning to. For travelers seeking a well-priced Marriott option near Kuta Beach, four points by sheraton bali kuta is a very appealing choice.
