USA Hotel Reviews Based on Real Stays
Hotel experiences in the United States can vary significantly depending on the city, location, brand, and even the time of year. Room rates are often high, particularly in destinations such as New York and Hawaii, which makes it even more important to look beyond the hotel’s star rating or brand name when deciding whether a stay is genuinely worth the price.
I have stayed at a range of hotels in the United States, including major international brands and properties in very different travel environments, from central Manhattan to resort destinations in Hawaii. These stays have allowed me to compare not only rooms and facilities, but also the practical details that can have a major impact on the overall value of a stay.
How I Compare Hotels in the USA
When reviewing hotels in the United States, I look closely at room condition and size, location, breakfast, executive lounge access, elite-member recognition, Wi-Fi reliability, destination or resort fees, transportation, nearby facilities, and overall value for the rate paid.
In cities such as New York, I pay particular attention to whether the location genuinely saves time, how the room size compares with other hotels in the same area, and whether elite benefits such as breakfast or lounge access help offset the high nightly rate.
For resort destinations, I also consider factors such as views, beach access, resort facilities, additional mandatory fees, dining convenience, and whether the overall experience justifies the total cost after taxes and resort charges are included.
I also compare hotels based on how they actually function during a stay rather than simply listing their advertised facilities. A well-known brand or premium location does not automatically mean better value, especially when rates can vary dramatically depending on the season.
